PEMF and Period Pain
If using PEMF improves circulation, is it not a contraindication against using PEMF during menstruation?
To my knowledge, no clinical studies suggest that PEMF should not be used during menstruation. We have many Oska Pulse users, including family members, using the Oska Pulse to offset the pain from period cramps. (dysmenorrhoea)
It is essential to understand that the Oska Pulse uses PEMF therapy to improve the cell membrane balance. This process increases the exchange of ions and electrolytes to enhance cellular energy and restore optimum cell function (homeostasis). This process does not increase circulation more than natural but restores circulation to that prior to cell injury or impaired performance.
More on contraindications:
The only absolute contraindication for using PEMF therapy is placing an active PEMF device over electronic devices such as pacemakers, cochlear implants, and intrathecal pumps, as the magnetic field may shut down or otherwise interfere with their function.
PEMFT should also be avoided in organ transplant patients because it may stimulate or activate a more aggressive rejection process by stimulating the immune system.
